Morbid Stench is a collaboration of musicians from El Salvador and Costa Rica. Both countries have a predominantly warm and sunny climate, but when you listen to the music they have to offer, you would not say exactly that when you listen to this second year album. A type of deep, implacable Doom/Death metal that stalks in the abyss, with an inclination for heavy riffs and equally guttural voices. In fact, the title of his debut album, ‘Doom & Putrefaction’, basically says everything.

The doom/death metal style of the band sounds very Old School and refreshing at the same time. Many today’s Death Metal bands tend to immerse themselves in that type of cavernous Death metal, but with that they focus mainly on building huge sound walls and, usually, that is at the expense of their atmosphere. Morbid Stench clearly maintains its overwhelming sound, courtesy of a great sound production, but the band does not stop maintaining the atmosphere as well. The contrast created between the somewhat faster sections and the slow and persistent passages gives this album such a disturbing and disconcerting atmosphere and, not without importance, keeps the delighted listener.
