Incinerate, a project originating from Minnesota in the United States, formed in 1998, over 20 years ago. Their debut album, Dissecting the Angels in 2002, was straight-up BDM with raw production that worked quite well in their songwriting.
For their second album, Anatomize, it took them six more years to finish and release, and it was evident that time brought about great changes in songwriting and sound, and the incorporation of a technical aspect into both. The song titles were simple and precise, while the lyrics maintained their anti-religious sentiment. This was a great musical progression, showcasing guitarist and vocalist Jesse Watson’s best work to that date, and the musicians on this release were spectacular. This album gained a lot of attention and a lot of fans, and the release would become one of those that would stand the test of time.
After the release, Incinerate toured around the world, proving again that they were hard-working musicians who deserved increasing recognition. Even though 2020 was such a strange time that was seemingly hell-bent on destroying everything, it was nice to see the announcement of the band’s new album, Sacrilegivm, via Comatose Music. It was great news and fans should rejoice.
